Biodiversity is everywhere. It's essentially a basic property of life, can not live without it. Just as important as food or water. The extent of biodiversity is so much that it is still not completed updated or kept tracked of. Actually often considered insufficient. Biodiversity has a fluctuating rate over time and we can use fossils to help determine the rate of extinction of species. Humans obviously influence this, but not positively. In recent years extinction has taken a sharp increase and is not expected to slow down any time soon. But humans are not the only ones who cause this there is also invasive species. But that can be said to be pretty much directly linked to humans and immigration/emigration.
